IQainAR- Enhancement of internal quality assurance of education in teaching, learning and assessment in HEIs of Azerbaijan and Russia’ 

IQainAR is an Erasmus + CBHE project, co-financed by the European Commission, whose main objective is to seek to support the improvement and development of the internal quality assurance of Higher Education Institutions (HEI) of partner countries with quality standards of the EU as a benchmark. In addition to strengthening the implementation of local, regional and national policies and strategies of HEIs.
National Workshop in Russia
The National Seminar in Russia took place on April 23 with the participation of all Russian partners of the Project (Russian Academy of Education; Tver State University, Belgorod State National Research University and Financial University). 
The goals of the seminar were the following:
1. Confirm the quality indicators as the result of round table discussions
2. Discuss the quality assurance indicators with the interested stakeholders (i.e. students, academic staff, employers etc.)
3. Based on the discussions to formulate recommendations for the quality assurance indicators
4. Results of the national seminar: suggest recommendations on the quality assurance indicators with the consideration of stakeholder feedback

The round table discussions with different stakeholders were moderated by Project partner universities and all suggestions were documented. The discussions covered topics such as the main characteristics of quality education, the components of quality in higher education. Also existing problems and constraints in the development and implementation of quality assurance in higher education was discussed. Suggestions in the form of concrete steps and measures needed for the transition to improve the education quality were presented. 
 
Next steps
In May another major national workshop is planned as part of the Project with the participation of Azerbaijani universities and local stakeholders such as students, employers, academic and management staff etc. 
In addition, surveys involving multiple stakeholders are being conducted by all Project partners with regard to quality assurance in teaching, learning and research. The findings from the surveys will contribute to the final list of internal quality assurance indicators as well as the strategy and roadmap.
