Would you like to hike before and after the Summit? Join us at one of these awesome hikes led by Trail Dames Head Dame Laura Seeger and Clinician Regina Reiter
Hike #1- High Falls Water Fall Hike Friday, July 13th 11:30 am
This hike is for Summit attendees only, and is limited to 20 attendees.
The hike is 1.4 miles round trip, but what a trip it is!! The hike descends 500' in 7/10ths of a mile. Which means we ascend 500' on the return trip. At the bottom is a beautiful waterfall and the hike back up will be worth the work after a cool dip in the falls!
There is often enough water at the base, so come prepared to take a dip.
This trail was just constructed in 2013 and is well made. There are basic restrooms at the parking lot across the street by Lake Glenville
The falls are tiered over 100, and very beautiful.
For more details on this beautiful trail, check out this link!!
Please bring: 2 L of water, snacks/lunch, towel, change of clothes, hiking poles - personal preference.
To register for this hike, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org Carpool times and locations will be shared with registrants
Hope you can join us!
Hike #2- Graveyard Fields Loop- Sunday, July 15th
(time and carpool info to be announced, but will take place after the Summit ends at noon)
3.19 miles- the hike will take 2-3 hours
More beautiful waterfalls!!!
Regina Reiter, Summit clinician, will be leading this hike and it will feature Regina's Meet the Mountains Technique. She will show you how to love...and dance...up hills!!
A unique loop trail winds through this high-elevation, flat valley. Two spurs lead to some of the most photographed and enjoyed waterfalls in the state! You'll pass through open areas, stands of Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron, and young northern hardwood forests. Between the falls is a relaxing, lazy section of stream. This is a truly unique and highly recommended hike!
A description and photos of this hike can be found here
Sign-up for this hike will take place at The Summit during registration. Water, good shoes and snacks are required for this hike, and hiking poles are recommended. The Summit will have a few pair to loan out for those of you flying in!
