Happy New Year to everyone across Oxfordshire!

Get a healthy start to 2018

If you’re anything like us, you’re not going to want to see another sausage roll for another 11 months; and while charging off to the gym at the start of January is seen as a bit of a cliche there’s nothing wrong with a health kick, at any time of the year. So here’s a breakdown of tips to get you feeling pepped.
There's is clear evidence to show that you could live longer and feel happier and more positive by choosing a healthier lifestyle. What's not to like?
NHS Healthchecks

If you're over 40, you're entitled to a free NHS health check which can help lower your risk of developing common but often preventable diseases such as stroke or diabetes. Think of it as a health MOT!

5 Ways to Wellbeing

Your mental health is as important as your physical health. Indeed, they're really one and the same. Take a look at ways to improve your mood, or get more support (there's lots out there).

Plenty of us feel we've overdone the booze at Christmas. Dry January is a chance to ditch the hangover, reduce the waistline, and save some serious money by giving up alcohol for 31 days

Stopping smoking

Thinking of quitting?  You’re in good company.  Research shows that 70% of smokers would like to stop. There are many reasons for quitting find out more and how here.

New year, new job?

April is the cruellest month according to T.S Eliot. Then again he was being deliberately provocative, we’re sure he’d actually admit that it's January that's a proper downer. So if you fancy ringing the changes, why not have a look at our jobs website?
Become a firefighter

For the first time in eight years we’re recruiting for full-time firefighters across the county. Being a firefighter is not like any other job, each day is different and provides great challenges and even greater rewards. Find out more.

Oxfordshire's Budget

Can we talk about money for a bit? Every year we set a budget to cover the huge range of essential services for people and communities across Oxfordshire, including children’s services, some education services, fire and rescue, libraries and museums, roads and transport planning, adult social care, trading standards, and waste disposal.

Our vision is 'thriving communities for everyone in Oxfordshire' . We listen to residents so we can continuously improve our services and provide value for money.

This weekend is your last chance to have your say on our budget before it’s voted on, so check out the proposals and let us know what you think.

How to recycle your Christmas tree

A real tree is a beautiful thing. But a faff to dispose of after Christmas. According to tradition, it's unlucky to keep your tree up past midnight on twelfth night; this is mainly because you're more likely to miss the chance to have it collected by your friendly District or City council. So to help, we've collated a list of collection points across the county, check them out.
