As the county thaws out we’re looking ahead to the Christmas break. Now the snow has cleared there’s lots of seasonal things to do! But first...

A big thank you.

Last weekend’s snow was some of the heaviest we’ve seen in years. And while plenty of us were out enjoying a winter wonderland, people across the county were ploughing on regardless and battling very difficult weather conditions to keep things going. From the staff who slept at work in the JR, to care workers braving really tough weather conditions to our gritters working through the night, we want to thank each and every one of you.

Speaking of which… throw things away, responsibly

So you’ve made three times too much food, the living room is buried under three feet of wrapping paper, you’ve spent an afternoon picking pine needles out of Aunt Mabel’s feet, and you want to fling that lump of Norway Spruce as far away as possible. Oxfordshire County Council, how can you help we hear you cry?  Never fear. From making food go further to what you can recycle, Recycle for Oxfordshire has a wealth of information to help you.
