We're really sorry! :(

We've had quite a few people tell us that they've struggled to enter the ballot for tickets to the Oxford Beacon lighting event.

While we did test this before we sent it out, it seems some gremlins have got into the works here at County Hall and many of you have struggled to enter the competition, which is embarrassing for us and frustrating for you.
We want to make sure everyone has a fair chance to take part in this historic event so we've made sure that everything's working again.

So...

If you've already entered but aren't sure if you're on the list, feel free to enter again. (We'll make sure everyone has the same chance even if they've entered more than once).

We'll also be extending the deadline until 12pm Midnight on Thursday 4th of October, and announcing the results on the 5th.

Enter the ballot for exclusive tickets to Oxford Beacon lighting event to mark 100 years since the end of the First World War

We’ll be joining more than 1000 locations around the United Kingdom in lighting a special Beacon of Light to mark the centenary of the Armistice of the First World War on 11th November 2018 as part of “Battle’s Over”: a nationwide commemoration programme of events.
The Castle Mound will not be accessible to the public during the event but we'd like to invite 40 Oxfordshire residents to join dignitaries and military representatives for a drinks reception, and then the beacon-lighting ceremony itself.

Tickets will be allocated to YourOxfordshire subscribers drawn at random who send their name, guests name if applicable, address and email address using the form below.

The closing date is midnight on the 30th of September and we'll be announcing the draw on October 1st
