Although Christmas itself is still a way off it really won’t be long before markets and events are springing up across the county; so even though it’s a bit early forgive us for getting a little excited about it.*

Christmas Markets

This weekend the countdown to christmas really kicks off, with Oxford’s Light Festival, which is not to be missed! We’ve got a run-down of Christmas Light events across the whole of Oxfordshire. We’re always on the lookout for more too, so tell us if we’ve missed any.

*gets earlier every year doesn’t it? That said, we do try and wait until after Remembrance Sunday.

Well done to Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra for their superb performance at the Music for Youth Proms which took place at the Royal Albert Hall no less. Free flu vaccinations for care workers

Flu is hardly a picnic if you’re fit and healthy, but for vulnerable people it can be fatal. So from Wednesday (15 November), care workers can simply go to their local pharmacy or GP Practice and ask for their free flu jab, showing their ID badge as proof of employment.

National accolade for young social worker dedicated to helping refugees

Congratulations to Nabeela Talib on being shortlisted for Student Social Worker of the Year! A fantastic and well deserved achievement. Nabeela is currently working with the Human Rights Law Network working to alleviate the plight of Rohingya refugees. What an inspiration!
