Hello! This month we've got all the details about our new music streaming service Freegal and the latest eMagazine service to read on your Libby app. We celebrate Local & Community History Month in our branches and on our social media pages.

NEW! music streaming service
Oxfordshire Libraries is offering a new music streaming service, Freegal Music!

Freegal Music provides access to over 15 million songs, music videos and audiobooks from more than 40,000 music labels worldwide. You can stream and download music from a wide variety of genres on a desktop or mobile device. Enter your library card number and PIN to log in!

eMagazines from Overdrive
We have recently extended our Overdrive subscription to include emagazines, accessible through the Libby app we are already using. This replaces our RB Digital emagazine service.

How to get started with the Libby app from Overdrive
Magazines can be accessed alongside eBooks and eAudio books using the Libby app. Access to top RB Digital title, The Economist, is available at any time to our readers, like all the magazines on Overdrive.
A link to the magazines section can be found to the top left of the Overdrive home page:Subjects I Collections I Kids & Teens I Magazines 
  • There's no limit on the number of people who can read any magazine at one time.
  • Emagazines can be borrowed in addition to 10 eaudio or ebooks
It's time to bring back your lockdown loans!
Time to return or renew loans!
Over the various lockdowns library loans were extended to Monday May 10. Books issued to this date are due for return or renewal. Please be reassured that library customers will not be penalised as a result of having to self-isolate or being unable to travel to return library loans.

This May is Local & Community History Month. How much do you know about the place where you live? How can you find out?
  • Ask about our local history collections.
  • Visit your local library and look out for displays from local historical societies in some of our branches, including Thame, Carterton, Abingdon and Goring.  
  • Browse our local history and author displays in branches and our 'Close to Home' eBook collections. Can you recommend any books set in Oxfordshire?
  • Look out for special posts on Facebook and Twitter throughout May. 
  • Take advantage of whilst it's still available for home access.
Pyjamarama event from Booktrust
We are celebrating BookTrust's Pyjamarama  by giving out free Bath Book Bed booklets the week beginning May 10, with lots of advice and ideas for the perfect bedtime routine to get your little ones off to the land of nod! Pick yours up from your local library .
Summer Reading Challenge: Wild World Heroes

Save the date!
From 10 July to 11 September children across Oxfordshire can join the Wild World Heroes, Summer Reading Challenge 2021 at their local library, to help save the environment of Wilderville. Children collect stickers and rewards as they read library books over the summer holidays. To carry on the fun at home have a look at the website
