Thorny News Update

Hi everyone -

Just a quick reminder of the meetings and events we have got coming up in the next few days….

Please note that this Friday & Saturday the company that will be building the gas interconnector pipeline, Jemena, will be having information stalls at Alice Plaza & Yeperenye shopping centres where they are ‘happy to discuss the project & answer questions’.

Jemena proudly acknowledge that the pipeline will “accelerate the development of NT gasfields” – which means opening the Territory up to fracking - creating an industrialised landscape & putting our environment & the health of our communities at risk. Jemena initially advised the pipeline would not rely on fracked gas but since Labor has called for a moratorium on fracking they have been up in arms saying the moratorium will damage the viability of their project.

You can visit their information booth at:
Yeperenye Shopping Centre: Friday 18 March – 10:00am – 4:00pm
Alice Plaza: Saturday March 19 – 9:00am – 2:00pm

Keep well
