July News 2011

Hi, back from holidays refreshed and totally back into the swing of things.  I just loved this pic of a butterfly that we saw. The weather has yet to be sunny and warm here, so we thought we'd give you some sunny 10% savings. We have added two new essential oils to our range -  Petitgrain (citrus aurantium subsp. amara) and Clary Sage (salvia sclarea) also welcome back to Black Pepper (piper nigrum)
........We have been working again with Emma Pattullo at Platform 22, and she has created some fabulous bespoke designs for us.  She is an extremely talented and creative potter and ceramicist. You can see the bee candle holders online now, thanks Emma.  We love them and think you all will too.
We have Butterfly Linda in our spotlight this month.  She is a wonderful woman with a distinctive and effective style of therapy.

We continue our focus on carrier oils, this month looking at our new oils that arrived in June - rosehip and evening primrose.
I seem to always be saying it, but these are two of my favourite oils.  I use rosehip currently as a cleanser and moisturiser on my face and body.  It is great for my sensitive, dry and mature skin.  The rosehip we stock is cold expressed and organic.  It contains a high percentage of gamma linoleic acid (GLA). It is very useful externally for scars, burns, wounds, eczema and psoriasis. Rosehip is well reputed for scar reduction and can help skin regeneration.  Beneficial for mature skin, against wrinkles and pre-mature ageing. For use in massage, as it is a very rich oil, it would be best used as  10%-20% along with sunflower or sweet almond, but this depends on the requirements of the client and the presenting condition of their skin. I have used rosehip on its own, with essential oils added, for massage too.

Evening primrose oil is also high in gamma linoleic acid and other fatty acids, our oil is cold pressed and organic.  For external use it is useful for eczema, psoriasis, dandruff, dry, scaly skin, wrinkles and is also helpful in wound healiing. For massage it would be best again to use 10-20% along with another carrier oil, as evening primrose is fairly rich in consistency.  I have also used this oil in massage along with essential oils in a blend, for clients who have menstrual, menopausal symptoms and/or arthritis.  I have also blended evening primrose and rosehip together for extra extra richness and synergy, where the clients conditons have necessitated.  More oils next month.

All feedback extremely welcome and thanks for your custom and support as always

My name is Linda Mcbain,   I  was an Auxiliary nurse at ARI & AMH  for 15 years.  After much searching, I was informed one day that my soul was crying out to be led on my spiritual journey.  I embarked on an Angel therapy course to explore my spiritually and this provided me with an insight into my souls path and where it could take me
I was then attuned to Reiki, I and II, an amazing experience, which gave me more healing and looking inward to find my answers and to realise my own true potential,
A two year Crystal Therapist course, gave me a huge insight into these Amazing Crystals  that are connected to Mother Earth. The treatments I practice are so unique, and are individual to each and every person who comes to see me......Some of these treatments are...Hand Reflexology ..using a baby crystal and essential oils ,Foot Therapy using crystal essential oils and a floral foot bath...Chakra Clearing .  Crystal wand therapies & Crystal massage.
I also use essential oils, enhancing the treatments
I recently completed my Reiki Masters.  I look forward to teaching this beautiful gift to my students. Reiki is a wonderful universal energy and it can bring so much peace joy and harmony in to your life
It is a great stress reliever, as are all my treatments, and I practice then in a peaceful tranquil surroundings, so that you can recharge, unwind and enjoy
