Rock'n Red Deer
We’re celebrating the car music and culture of the 50s, 60s and 70s in Red Deer on July 27-August 2, 2015. More than 850 classic cars, hot rods and custom cars will converge in Red Deer for one of the biggest shows of its kind in Alberta.
Red Deer, AB. July 20, 2015: Every third year since 1997, The Alberta SuperRun Association sponsors Rock’n Red Deer, one of the biggest car celebrations in Western Canada. The non-profit association is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the cars, music and culture of the 50s, 60s and 70s.
During the 7-day event, the 2,500 registered participants will enjoy various cruises around Central Alberta including a Friday night “Cruise-In” that will transform downtown Red Deer into an “American Gaffiti” time warp for all to enjoy. The public is invited to ride with the rods on Friday night and visit the car show on August 1 and 2 at the Westerner. There will be an outdoor stage with live entertainment, vendor displays, a kids’ zone with arts and crafts and activities all day on Saturday and Sunday.
“It’s a real family event and we have vehicles coming from as far away as South Dakota and Ontario,” said Dick Wallace, president of the Alberta SuperRun Association. “On Friday night we take over the downtown of Red Deer. The neat part is it’s open to the public and people can cruise around with the hot rods and classic cars.”
Come to Red Deer and you’ll discover that these vehicles and this event can be a time machine of sorts – transporting you to another era. Car culture is alive and well in Alberta and you can see for yourself on July 27-August 2, 2015. Admission is $8 for adults and kids under 12 are free.
