Billy Payne, who served as chief executive of Atlanta’s 1996 Olympic Games, will deliver the University of Georgia’s Mason Public Leadership Lecture at 11 a.m. on Nov. 3 in the UGA Chapel. He is currently chairman of the Augusta National Golf Club, host of the Masters Tournament.
John Turner, associate professor of economics, recently spoke about the AT&T-Time Warner merger. The proposal, which hasn't been approved, began when AT&T offered $85 billion for Time Warner Inc. in one of the largest media mergers in years.
Five faculty members were recently appointed to privately endowed chairs or professorships at Terry College. Two were awarded to finance faculty who joined the department this fall. The other three were awarded to Terry professors known for their research in environmental economics, international trade law and IT strategy.
Stan Johnson is the official "paper pusher" for the Terry College. Each semester, Terry faculty, staff and students go through a large volume of paper: handouts, tests, assignments, quizzes and final exams. As the college's logistical support manager, Johnson helps to oversee the production of these documents.
