Terry welcomes new faculty

Fourteen new faculty members have joined the Terry College ranks ahead of the fall 2016 semester. The faculty embody a diverse range of backgrounds and skill sets, and will work across six departments in roles ranging up to chaired professorships.

Dean Ayers wins national tax education award

The American Taxation Association honored Terry Dean Benjamin C. Ayers with the Ray M. Sommerfeld Outstanding Tax Educator Award during its annual conference.

Three win 'Best Paper' awards  

Three Terry faculty members have won "Best Paper" honors for their research.

Laura Little, director of the Institute for Leadership Advancement and an associate professor of management, received the Academy of Management Journal Best Paper Award for 2016.

Hani Safadi, assistant professor in Management Information Systems, received an award for the Best Published Paper in 2015 from the Academy of Management at its annual meeting in August.

Tim Samples, assistant professor of legal studies, received the Best Submitted Conference Paper award from the Academy of Legal Studies in Business.

Legal Studies prof represents Georgia at DNC

Dawn Bennett-Alexander, associate professor of legal studies attended the Democratic National Convention this summer as a Georgia delegate. During that time, she was interviewed by Atlanta TV stations, as well as American Public Media's Marketplace. Bennett-Alexander said the experience of casting a vote for the first female presidential nominee of a major party was significant. "Not only is equality my profession as well as my life's work," she said, "but as an African American, it was important to me for my descendants to know that we were a part of history."
