Dear Friends,

"If the life that we've been given is made beautiful in the living
And the joy that we get brings joy to the heart of the giver
Then right here, right now, this is the song I'm singing out
It's good to be alive
" - Jason Gray

We believe that every child felt "it's good to be alive" when they celebrated their year-end parties last year!

Thursday 27th November was a great occasion and enjoyed by all the children in the Visual Literacy Project and the Gardening Clubs as they immersed themselves in the activities offered by The Farmyard Park near Paarl. "It's always a beautiful day at the Farmyard" (says their advertising) and this certainly proved correct. There are shady braai sites, a tuck-shop, a trampoline as well as a giant water-slide and three swimming pools for the children to submerse themselves into.

A HUGE picnic was laid out so they could indulge in all the scrumptious goodies so generously provided by Aunty Eva, Aunty Rosie and the crafters who donned their aprons and became not only the hosts but also the caterers for the day. To get everybody into a celebratory mood, muffins and juices were served on the buses and it was just as well, because everybody hit the water the minute the buses stopped and opened their doors, literally pouring children into the park. Something for everyone was provided: braai, picnic, swim, visits to farm animals, or just lazing in the tranquil atmosphere of this miniature farm.

A Princess Castle and slippery water-slide were the highlights of our tiny tots and toddlers on the 28th November. Munching platters filled with delicious cakes, cookies and biscuits, our tiny folk had a thoroughly marvellous time and all enjoyed the castle and water-slide, splashing each other and everyone in reach. Piles of gifts were brought by Dorise Hettlich and each and every child received a special gift or cuddly toy to accompany them home that day.

So much has been achieved in the community of Kylemore by Imbali in 2014. ALL of which would not have been possible without the financial support of our Sponsors and Donors, the hands-on-help and the relentless commitment of our friends, colleagues, volunteers and hardworking Committee members. So, once again, we are saying just a VERY BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE who went the extra mile to make the end-of-year-party special for the children in our Frank’s Heaven Kylemore Crèche, Mirja Sach's Infant Day Care Centre, the Visual Literacy Project, the After Care Centre and in our Organic Food Garden Clubs.

May we take this opportunity to wish you a splendid 2015!
Bless you for caring!
Jeanne and all at Imbali
