These monthly meetings offer a casual "kitchen table" communication approach among entrepreneurs. Each session will offer opportunities for networking, announcements, and learning. Current and future entrepreneurs are invited to attend. This event takes place every second Wednesday of the month. LEGUP! is presented by the local Chambers of Commerce in Livingston County, as well as Cleary University, Livingston County SBTDC, SCORE, Howell Carnegie District Library and the Brighton District Library.

Photos After Dark

Black and Blue
The Story of Gerald Ford, Willis Ward, and the 1934 Michigan-Georgia Tech Football Game

When Georgia Tech came to Michigan in 1934, the Wolverines benched their best player, Willis Ward, because he was African-American. The incident infuriated Ward’s best friend on the team, Gerald Ford. This film tells the story of two schools, two friends, and a game that changed everything. A discussion with the filmmakers, Brian Kruger and Buddy Moorehouse, will follow the screening.

Literature Resource Center
Covering literature from all over the world, this database includes author biographies and thousands of critical articles on individual works, as well as genres, time periods, and more general literary topics.
This and other online resources are available through links from the database page on the Library website. Click the Research button at the top of the homepage. They require a BDL library card for access from home or school.

Using the Every Child Ready to Read model, toddlers and their caregivers sing, read, write, talk, and play as they build their pre-reading skills. For children ages 24-36 months and their caregivers.

Stimulate your active toddler with books, music, and movement. This program is best suited to toddlers who enjoy rolling, creeping, stretching and moving. Play time concludes the program. For children 12 to 23 months and their caregivers.

Your child will explore the alphabet with hands-on fun as we celebrate a different letter every week through stories, songs, rhymes, and crafts. For children ages 4-5 and their caregivers.

Children ages 36-48 months and their caregiver will enjoy stories, songs, rhymes, and fun hands-on activities designed to develop pre-reading and writing skills. Playtime concludes the program.
