Month Of the Young Child
Each April, Michigan celebrates Month of the Young Child The purpose of this month is to recognize the needs and rights of young children and their families.
In support of this endeavor, we're pleased to present the following programs in addition to our regular storytimes to help celebrate our youngsters. Be sure to register for your spot before they fill up!

Giant Play-In

Love and Logic Solutions for Early Childhood - Part 1

Spring Fun for Tweens & Teens
 
Tweens and Teens are invited to register for these fun April programs just for them! 

Teens are always welcome to join us for our Teen Writer's Workshops. We'll meet on Tuesday,
April 4 & 25 at 6:30pm. For 7th-12th graders.


On Thursday, April 13, teens can make and decorate their very own dry erase board for their rooms or lockers. Registration begins March 30. For 7th-12th graders.

Tweens get the chance to play with their food, in this case, Peeps! Build a catapult and launch those Peeps as far as you can! Registration begins April 6. Ages 9-12.

Thursday, April 27 is our next teen craft, led by members of the Teen Advisory Board. Sign up to try beginning sewing and learn to sew your own keychain. Registration begins April 13. For 7th-12th graders.
 

Staff Spotlight
 
Meet Sarah Perry, Social Media Librarian. Her job duties include staffing the adult information desk, ordering books for the adult non-fiction collection, organizing the Local Author Showcases, managing Library social media accounts, and editing the eNewsletter.

Sarah is so passionate about books that she reviews them for City Book Review and she also writes them. She has authored three digital picture books for MeeGenius and a young adult novel, Dream Girl, as S.J. Lomas. The sequel, Dream Frequency, will be released later this year.
