A Showcase of Local Authors!
The Brighton District Library is pleased to host our 4th Local Author Showcase on Sunday, Sept 14, 2-4pm. This event will feature a great lineup of nine Michigan authors, including two time Michigan Notable Book Award winner Jean Alicia Elster, with her newest Michigan Notable book, The Colored Car. Also featured will be three young adult authors with their debut novels, Bethany Neal with My Last Kiss; MG Buehrlen, The 57 Lives of Alex Wayfare; and Barbara Pietron, Thunderstone. Children's author Lori Taylor will present her adventurous series, Holly Wild, and Laura Lafferty has her picture book, A Doodle-Head Named Whompi. Adult thrillers will be represented with Monica R. Sholar's The 24th Letter, and Paul Ross' Lena’s Bequest. Adult non-fiction author Lois Maharg will present The Savvy Insomniac: A Personal Journey Through Science to Better Sleep. Each author will be selling and signing books at tables throughout the Library and giving a brief presentation about their writing or a short reading.
Featured Resources for Students
The Library is pleased to work with local authors through this exciting program. By bringing together local authors in one event, thrice annually, we strive to help authors make connections with each other as well as the community. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in participating at our next event, you can find the application and further information through our website.
