From the Interim Director...
It is an exciting turn of the year at the Library. New millage revenue is already being put to use in significantly increased budgets for new materials, including new online subscriptions to Consumer Reports (available now) and Morningstar Investments (coming soon). Plans are moving forward for renovations in the building, and the Library staff are able to grasp fresh opportunities to improve our services and the way we provide them.
In the midst of this hubbub, Nancy B. Johnson, our Director since 2007, will be retiring, and in January I take on the role of Interim Director, while the Board of Trustees conduct their search for a new library director. I am happy to take this opportunity to thank Nancy for her steady leadership in the Library and in our community. Her professional devotion, energy, and generous spirit allowed us to continue to improve our operations through a time of unusual economic difficulty. Our successes for many years will owe much to her.

New Databases: Consumer Reports and Morningstar
Thanks to your support of our November millage election, we will be adding the Consumer Reports and Morningstar databases to our collection of research tools.
Consumer Reports allows users to easily search through a greater selection of impartial product reviews than offered in the print magazine and it can be accessed in the Library or from home (your Library Card number is required) from the link on our databases webpage.
In early January, we will also have access to the Morningstar Investment Research Center, an easy to navigate database, designed especially for libraries to help patrons reach their investment goals. It’s the one-stop tool for collecting financial information, getting reliable portfolio analysis, learning about investment options, and getting the most up-to-date financial news commentary. Morningstar Investment Research Center provides data on over 14,500 stocks, 24,800 mutual funds, 1,500 exchange-traded funds, and 700 closed end funds. Morningstar also provides analyst reports on over 3,500 securities, offering in-depth background and analyst opinions on top investments. It will also be accessible in the Library or from home from the link on our databases webpage.
We're excited to offer these valuable databases!
