National D.E.A.R. Week
Monday-Saturday, Apr 9-14 (
Youth Department)
In honor of Beverly Cleary's birthday, "Drop Everything and Read"! Drop in whenever the Library is open this week and swap a book, design a Book Quilt, participate in a Scavenger Hunt, or help create the "World's Longest Drawing." Prizes, too. All ages.
 
Infant Massage
Tuesday, Apr 17, 10:30-11:30am
(Youth Activity Room)

Discover the benefits of infant massage for you and your baby. This free introductory class will be taught by Jeri Lea Kroll, Certified Educator of Infant Massage. For infants four weeks to crawling stage and their parent or caregiver. Registration begins Apr 3.
 
Celebrate Earth Day with Recycled Jewelry
Wednesday, Apr 18, 6:30-8pm
(Conference Room)

Using puzzle pieces, buttons, ribbon, and wire, recycle items into unique jewelry. Ages 8-10.
Registration begins Apr 4.
 
Month of the Young Child Celebration
Friday, Apr 20, 10:30-Noon (Room A/B)

Celebrate with us through stories, songs, and rhymes with local guest readers, including Rep. Bill Rogers and BAS Supt. Greg Gray. Crafts, refreshments, and a free book for each child ages 1-5. Sponsored by Great Start Livingson Parent Coalition. Parent participation required. Drop-in.


Signing Time for Baby and You
Monday-Wednesday, Apr 23-25, 11-11:30am (Youth Dept.)

Babies who sign experience the joy of being able to communicate with their parents, experience less frustration and enhance their early literacy skills. This three day program is intended for pre-verbal children 6-18mo, and a parent or caregiver.
Registration begins Apr 9.

The Cats and the Fiddler

Join us for a fantastic concert, featuring The Cats and the Fiddler, an amazing trio of 16 year olds who specialize in acoustic music with influences from country, bluegrass, blues, and jazz. This is an event you don’t want to miss! Drop-in.

Using the Federal Census for Genealogy
Monday, Apr 9, 7-8:30 pm (Room A/B)
Learn how to use Census records to find out details about your forebears. Taken every decade since 1790, census records have become essential tools for genealogists. The 1940 Census is scheduled to be released in April. Since an index to this Census will not be available for several months, this program will also show how to search without an index. Register now.
