About the Speaker:

This year Bill is celebrating 44 years with GLHN .  As a Principle of the firm, he is committed to a philosophy of innovative and energy-efficient design.  In the 1970s he developed and implemented the firm’s first energy management program called SAVE (Systematic Analysis of Vital Energies).  Since then, GLHN has become a leader in the implementation of sustainable concepts and value engineering, promoting LEED Accreditation in all four of its disciplines and proactive involvement in the development of wind and solar energy.

Bill has been actively involved in education his entire career, most recently volunteering this year to teach 8th grade classes for Junior Achievement of Tucson -- his involvement fosters an understanding amongst students of the importance between education and their future success.  Bill has also been active in higher education for over 25 years.  He is an adjunct instructor for the University of Arizona Department of Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering and is involved with the Pima Community College Curriculum Board.  As an instructor with the APPA Institute, Bill teaches courses on refrigerants and chillers, basic HVAC systems, and utility master planning.  He has also written and delivered over 25 papers and presentations on Utility Development Planning.

For over 30 years, Bill has promoted and support of our nation’s veterans.  As a veteran himself, he has guided the firms work on VA projects for over 35 years and as Project Principal and Lead Mechanical Engineer, he has audited mechanical systems at over 100 VA Medical Centers in almost all 50 states, identifying opportunities for improvements and energy conservation upgrades.
