Bancroft Polymer Laminated Site, Perception versus Reality
Have you ever jumped to a conclusion from something you have heard or seen?  That conclusion can become reality very quickly for many.  But what if it is perception?  Look at this picture.
That is Polymer Laminated (100 Year material service life) with a salt stain after only one year.  This salty water under Highway 62 in Bancroft Ontario, remains in the pipe for 365 days per year.  Perception or Reality?

TRB Webinar: Latest Advances in Large Span Buried Bridges
Bridge engineers are invited to a TRB webinar on Thursday, October 3, 2019, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET. This webinar will identify strategies for constructing and maintaining large span buried bridges, which have at least a 50 foot span and consist of a buried structure that works with granular backfill to support design loads through soil-structure interaction.
