Tier 2 and a new version of emission factors are now available! Join us for a webinar on March 12th to learn more.
This new subscription level offers multi-campus accounts and the ability to 'tag' your data.
  • Multi-campus functionality: This new subscription level in SIMAP will allow you to track the footprints of multiple campuses in a single account.
  • Data tags: Tier 2 also includes the ability to ‘tag’ your data points with identifying information so that, for example, you can enter and view footprint data associated with a specific building, college, department, or function (e.g., transit vs. facility fleets).
  • Upgrade now on the my account page. Tier 2 subscriptions are $600/year.
  • Already have a Tier 1 account and want to try out Tier 2? Email us at to learn more about the promotional discounts we are offering to current Tier 1 subscribers.
  • Signatories to the Climate Commitment will continue to receive a 40% discount on subscriptions.
In the newly available Tier 2 multi-campus account, you can use the campus comparison report to view and compare footprint results across your campuses.

The 2019 version of emission factors is a comprehensive update to the calculation factors in SIMAP.

  • Switch to the recommended EF version: Go to the calculation sources and methods form and select '2019' from the Emission Factor Version drop-down. Note: This step is necessary to use the new version because your account will not automatically update to the 2019 version of emission factors.
  • Comprehensive updates: All emission factors in SIMAP have been updated to the most current data sets. This means that you may see some changes in your results for recent years. See this page for more information on what has been updated.
  • Market-based scope 2 method: Residual mix emission factors are now available by eGrid regions! The previous versions were available by the more aggregated NERC regions. For more information, see the SIMAP scope 2 methods page and the Green-e Residual Mix Emissions Rates Report.
  • Location-based scope 2 method: The 2018 purchased electricity emission factors from the recently released eGRID report are now in SIMAP.
  • To adapt to current recommended methodologies, we also made updates to emission factors for fertilizer, animals, and transportation (CH4 and N2O) across all years.
  • Your custom emission factors will not automatically transfer to the 2019 version of emission factors because they are tied to the version you entered them into. See the Customized Emission Factors page to look up your previously entered custom emission factors to help you add them to your account under the 2019 version.
The Customized Emission Factors page allows you to view all the emission factors you have customized in one place. It is located on the Data Mgmt tab.

Tier 1 accounts now offer bulk operations, account alerts, and a summary of your customized emission factors.

  • Bulk operations: Do you need to delete several data points at once? You can now do that on the Data Entry tab using bulk operations! Just click the check boxes for data points you would like to delete, scroll to the bottom to select 'delete selected data', and click save.
  • Account alerts and errors: The next time you view your results, you may see some new alerts and error messages. These are important! They let you know when you are not using recommended calculation factors (e.g., emission factors, eGrid regions) and when necessary calculation factors are missing (e.g., custom emission factors, cogen efficiencies, food scaling factors, normalization data).
  • Custom emission factors page: You can now view a summary of all emission factors you have customized on the Customized Emission Factors page
  • These new features are all available in Tier 2 accounts as well.
