The ITS strategic planning process launched on July 3rd. The kick-off over a three week period included workshops (vision development), meetings and presentations with key committees, 43 IT managers and directors and 185 ITS staff members. The strategic plan will inform the vision, goals and objectives both within ITS and across the university for the next three years.

New Course Information System
to streamline syllabi,
exams process

Projected to save the University over $280,000 annually and hundreds of hours of work for U of T employees, the new Course Information System (CIS) will streamline syllabi and exams processes for instructors and administrators, and help students to make better-informed decisions about their education.

In May, the Faculty of Information reached out to Information Technology Services (ITS) for help migrating the faculty’s data and services away from iSchool’s in-house servers to virtual services and strategic hosting.

Data Dragons competition:
how contestants faced the fire

Feather boas, fantastic pitches and fiery competition – that’s how U of T’s first Data Dragons Competition played out.

On July 5th, Enterprise Applications & Solutions Integration (EASI) and Planning & Budget welcomed over 120 attendees to watch six dragons critique five business intelligence presentations.

Online forms in Office 365

With the Microsoft Forms tool, you can create surveys, polls and formative quizzes – and easily see results as they come in.

Office 365 migration: latest numbers

To date, 16,554 U of T accounts have been migrated to Office 365, including 13,802 UTORexchange accounts, 1,778 UTORmail accounts, and 974 departmental accounts.
