News from Youth Rebuilding New Orleans

Before and After

Things are finally starting to take shape on St. Ann. As many of our supporters know, YRNO has spent the better part of a year working to beautify a series of homes all clustered together in Bayou St. John. The first of several homes to be sold to teachers is nearing completion and its been truly remarkable to see the transformation of each home.

Many of our volunteers don't have the opportunity to see a project from start to finish but as a collective group they can have a profound impact on the communities in which we serve. Stay in touch and track our project by visiting our Facebook, Twitter, and Snapchat accounts. Thank you to all those individuals that have helped us make New Orleans better than before.

Gearing Up For Internships

This spring, YRNO welcomed six interns to the construction team from local high schools and JOB1. While learning the basics of construction and carpentry with our full time staff, the interns have also taught and supervised volunteers at our St. Ann and community build sites. To apply for YRNO’s cohort internship program for the summer, please complete this application

Partnering with Propeller

YRNO is excited to announce that we were accepted into Propeller's inaugural Growth Accelerator. The Growth Accelerator is a three-month program designed to help established ventures grow and scale. For more info visit here.

March Madness

March is a very busy time for YRNO, filled with spring breakers eager to volunteer. This year twenty-six different colleges, universities, high schools and families came out and helped throughout the community. Thank you to all of our 252 hardworking volunteers who served 5,400 hours and contributed almost $125,000 worth of hard work to the New Orleans community!

We Won!

Thanks to all of our volunteers who participated in the Super Service Challenge by either voting or submitting videos. We had 500 entries and won multiple prizes that totaled $37,000 in prizes this year!
