Nature shakes out her winter blanket.
Snapping corners let loose winds
that rustle pale petals
and scatter dusty pollen scents
from perfumed lashes.
An archer underground
lets fly his timely arrows.
Green spears pierce
packaging last year’s fallen memory.
Crisscross twigs sift falling petals
that hush the nursery in quiet anticipation
as infant fruit arrive.
Adorned in blushing bonnets, they shyly peer
through darkened stamens.
Despite fleets of dark, pirate ship clouds
stealing the golden sun
and constant rains beating away bee wings,
the infant ume yet fatten daily.
I find refuge in such miracles.
