PNWJETAA is gearing up for the JETAA National Conference in Chicago, but there's more going on closer to home! Here are some up coming events, jobs, and other opportunities that are happening through October.

Welcome Back Happy Hour
September 20, 2019
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. | The Japanese Cultural Community Center (JCCCW)
Welcome back to our recently returned JETs! On behalf of the wider JET community, we're glad to have you in the PNW!  

The mini-welcome back will be focused on culture shock new returnees may be feeling and connect them with JETAA senpai and other fellow JET returnees.  So, if you're an alumni, please come and welcome our returnees and if you are a recent returnee / recently moved to Seattle please come meet everyone.

We will have light refreshments and great company to offer and hope that you will join us. Think of it as potluck-lite.  Bring a snack or beverage if you feel like it!

2019 Japan Week at Bellevue College

Saturday, September 28th, 2019
10:00am – 5:00pm  |  Bellevue College

The Consulate-General of Japan in Seattle is looking for volunteers to help at the JET Program booth at Bellevue College's Japan Week. Help out by answering questions, dispelling myths, and maybe even inspiring others to take that leap of faith.

Kyoto Art & Antiques Sale
September 26th - October 6th
11:00am - 7:00pm, everyday | Georgetown

Great finds await as well as an excuse to explore the historical Georgetown District of Seattle.  It's back - the famous Kyoto Art & Antiques Sale returns to Seattle and runs from September 26 - October 6, 11 am - 7 pm everyday!  This sale offers antique furniture, dishes, vintage clothing and a wide variety of unique gifts. Great fun to see what deals you can find or simply window shop. Other great destinations to check out all within a 5 minute drive of the sale: Fran's Chocolates HQKatsu Burger - for hand stirred kuro goma milk shake and aonori french fries; if you're in the mood for sushi, check out  The Cutting Board;  finally, if you need groceries for dinner - no problem Maruta Shoten is a  Mom & Pop-style supermarket just around the corner!  Happy bargain hunting!

Young Professionals Fund
Don't forget! You can get partial reimbursement for professional development!  Most Japan-America Society and JASNET events qualify. If you find another event, you can submit it through the website for approval as well. For details, you can read more about it on the website

HINT: The Cryptocurrency event held by JASSW is definitely eligible!
