Bett finalists 2019
We are pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted in three categories for this year's Bett awards. We have been shortlisted for Primary content, Secondary content and for Free digital content or open access resources.  You can find out more on our blog.

Let's Get Digital Blog
The new Let's get Digital Blog series is designed to support schools in their journey to using cloud based tools and applications to energise the curriculum and boost productivity.  Additionally it's the place where you can keep up to date on all the latest features of G-Suite and Office 365, including case studies.

Rocket Fund
Is there any tech you'd like to buy for your school but can't afford? Rocket Fund is a free fundraising platform for schools. So far they have helped 230 schools raise over £200,000. The next wave will launch on 26th November, with 20 x £250 rocket boosts available for tech projects. See  http://www.rocket.fund  for more details.

Emirates Celebration
Islington are hosting the annual New Year Computing and Digital Celebration on 17th January 2019. This event celebrates Computing and Digital from Islington Schools and beyond, and will include demonstrations from 100s of children and digital leaders showcasing their amazing digital and computing projects from the last year. If you would like to take part and share a project then you can register here.
 
LGfL Cloud Services in Education Conference
Are you interested in finding out about how Google GSuite and Microsoft Office 365 could be used in your school to tackle teacher workload, collaboration, communication and creativity across the curriculum? Do you want to find out more about how LGfL can support schools to adopt cloud platforms? Would you like to know how to develop a strategy to use cloud services in your school? Virgin TV's Christmas Stars
Do you want your Christmas play to be made available to 4 million Virgin TV customers this Christmas? iChild is excited to be working with their friends at Virgin TV on a very special competition with a money can't buy prize for Primary schools. You can find out more here, schools must enter before midnight on 27/11 for a chance to win. Schools need to be aware that it should be an original play and you will need to highlight on the entry if there are any songs or potentially copyrighted references

Reading Zone Live
Our popular resource ReadingZone Live  now features over 40 authors in the library with  E Lockhart and Zaro Weil being our latest additions.  Our next event will take place on the 5th December and feature the author Holly Bourne.

EdTech 50 schools
The Education Foundation has launched Edtech 50 schools, this is a celebration of the work of schools across the UK that are using education technology to support teaching and learning across the whole school, in a particular subject area or to support an education initiative or project. You can find out more and nominate your school here.

Training from LGfL

There are a wide number of courses running in the Autumn term. Training is FREE for all LGfL teachers and is held on a Tuesday at Camden CLC, or at one of our partner venues, you can find out more about the courses on offer and how to sign up here. Examples of future courses include: Online Safety training, Creative Computing, Supporting EAL as well as  Google and Microsoft training.
You can also book one of the Learning Resource Consultants to come in to your school and deliver INSET sessions, or map your curriculum to LGfL resources, a perfect way to prepare for the Spring term and ensure you are making the most of the LGfL resources available to you. Our curriculum blog is updated weekly and now has over 90 posts showcasing resources from LGfL to help support you in delivering the curriculum. Our latest posts look at Remembrance Day, National Non-Fiction November as well as our latest 5 ways to.  Please let us know what future blog posts you would like or if you would like to write a guest blog post about the work you are doing in schools using LGfL resources. You can also subscribe to the blog so that you never miss a post.

LGfL Mental Health and Wellbeing conference 5th February 2019 at Camden CLC. This will be our first event focussing solely on Mental health and Wellbeing.  Details of how to book will be made available soon.
LGfL DigiSafe conference 11th March 2019 Save the date the second safeguarding conference. The theme for the conference next year is Safeguarding online and beyond, a must for Designated Safeguarding Leads and Online Safety Leads.
