Hope you all had a restful half term apart from writing those reports! Hoping you all enjoy the sunshine and this last half term with your students.
Support and advice for all aspects of GDPR for LGfL schools is now available at gdpr.lgfl.net. The site includes background reference on GDPR, a privacy notice from LGfL that can be downloaded, resources for schools to use as well as special GDPR deals for LGfL schools.
Our latest case study on Ancient Egypt is now available, it looks at how one school explored the potential of combining Augmented and Virtual reality linked to expert video content in their study of Ancient Egypt. The Ancient Egypt resource was updated last month with an improved interface and enhanced content with expert video explanations from an Egyptologist from the Manchester Museum.
Our next Reading Zone Live event features the author Philip Reeve on the 13th June from 2:20pm. Philip Reeve is the author best known for his multi award-winning Mortal Engines quartet. His most recent series Railhead is a space opera with intergalactic trains, dazzling worlds and extraordinary characters, the latest book in the series Station Zero published in May. This event would be most suitable for Upper Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils.You can find out more and how to listen here.
Our LGfL TV portal continues to grow. We now have dedicated categories for Minecraft, DigiSafe and Let's get Digital. The keynotes from our recent conferences are also available to view as well as trailers for resources and walkthroughs.
Training from LGfL
There are still lots of courses on our training programme for the Summer term, and dates for the Autumn term are being continually added. Training is FREE for all LGfL teachers and is held on a Tuesday at Camden CLC, or at one of our partner venues, you can find out more about the courses on offer and how to sign up here. Examples of future courses include: Online Safety training, Social Media, Google and Microsoft training.
You can also book one of the Learning Resource Consultants to come in to school and deliver INSET sessions, a perfect way to kick off the Autumn term and ensure you are making the most of the LGfL resources available to you. Contact us via email@example.com.

IBM Summer school
London CLC's collaboration with IBM returns for its fifth seasons and is open for booking now, it takes place at IBM's campus on the Southbank in July and will explore the principles of computational thinking, digital literacy, online safety and information systems within real world contexts, including IBM's commercial and social programmes.
