Altus InsurTech Event

On the 15th June Altus Consulting hosted a thought-provoking event looking at disruption in the insurance sector and how this is following a similar pattern to one we have already witnessed in the travel industry – hence the sunglasses!

The line-up of speakers included leading authorities from the UK and overseas, major insurance brands, InsurTech innovators and leading specialists in their field.

See presentations from the event.
We had some great feedback from the day, here's what our delegates thought:
"Myself and a colleague went to another well established conference the week before and we agreed it wasn't anywhere near as good as your Altus session"

"Really well attended and nice open format"

ATG surveys – your chance to influence our product roadmap

Following successful ATG Special Interest Group kick-off meetings in April and May, we have designed a series of surveys to look into each initiative in more detail. Our surveys aim to identify any existing issues and ascertain whether you would value specific capabilities within ATG.
The surveys focus on: We would welcome your input. We have kept the surveys short and hope that you will be able to fill them in. If you would like more information, please do not hesitate to contact Howard Finnegan.

Policy Comparison - Election Special 2017

They say a week is a long time in politics.  Having analysed the policies of the mainstream UK parties ad infinitum, everyone was caught on the hop with their ignorance of the Ulster-based party’s policies.  The morning after the election, the DUP’s website crashed under the weight of journalists desperately seeking out their manifesto.

Holding the balance of power, DUP have been able to insist on retaining the state pension triple lock and winter fuel allowance as part of a confidence and supply arrangement with Theresa May.  How else will the new political landscape impact financial services?

Are you ready for the HMRC EDI and Government Gateway decommissioning?

We are fast approaching the 2018 deadlines set by HMRC for the decommissioning of the EDI and Government Gateway for pensions reporting. Many continue to underestimate the impact these changes will have on their operations, and the level of communications the new reporting system will require.

In order to measure your readiness ahead of next year, we have designed a survey outlining the key requirements you need to meet to be able to operate with the new system. If you feel you are not the right person to answer the survey, please do forward this email to the right contact. Lack of readiness could have serious consequences for your company.
If you would like more information about how we can support you, please contact Howard Finnegan.

Market update – first of half of 2017
Our latest analysis shows that during the first six months of 2017 there was a slight increase (close to 2%) in the volume of electronic transfers and re-registrations, despite a significant increase in the number of industry participants. This would suggest the overall volume of account/portfolio transfers and asset re-registrations dropped slightly when compared with the same period last year.

Everything you wanted to know about the Pensions Dashboard but were afraid to ask
The Pensions Dashboard is the talk of the industry, and the prototype demonstrations organised by the ABI have sparked a lot of interest. Whilst there are still key governance issues to address, the focus is beginning to turn to the preparedness of pension administrators who arguably have the hardest task of all.

Why pension dashboard must be free to users
While it is possible that some dashboard services may include some interesting extras that might justify a fee, it is universally agreed that a basic dashboard needs to be free for users if we are to encourage the kind of engagement that’s needed.
