A World Premiere Fire Opera

January 11-14 and 18-21, 2012

MACHINE is set in a fiery industrial universe in which workers have sold themselves into a lifetime of servitude. When one worker regains his power of self-determination, the story ignites into an explosive brew of escape plots, alliances, and unlikely love interests. This spectacular performance features two opera singers, a rock singer and percussionists that “play” the scaffolding-like set. Visual effects including a molten metal pour, fire performers and industrial artists such as glass blowers and blacksmiths. MACHINE will deliver the kind of awe-inspiring performance that Crucible audiences have come to expect.

Vehicle Donation
Donating a car is an excellent way to get rid of old unwanted vehicles. We’ve joined forces with Charitable Auto Resources, Inc. who handles all of the documents, vehicle pick up, charity auction sale, and distribution of proceeds to The Crucible.

This means no hassle and getting an itemized tax deduction for your vehicle’s full, true value, while helping The Crucible.

Got something other than a car? No problem. Charitable Auto Resources takes just about any motor vehicle, including trucks, sport utility vehicles, motorcycles, RVs, boats, airplanes, go carts, scooters, mopeds, golf carts, dune buggies, forklifts, trailers, snow mobiles, and more!

Thinking Inside the Box
So I'm sure you've here the phase "Thinking outside the box." However today we would like you to think inside the box. Inside a shipping container actually. These days shipping containers are being turned into restaurants, retail shops, swimming pools and even homes. Check out these amazing resources for this wonderful reuse of the industrial box.

Froebe: Gold-Plated Shipping Container Bling Bar
Froebe, a gold-plated shipping container bar in Linz, Austria on a public plaza between two museums. And is the latest addition to the world of hip, mobile food establishments. Designed by artist Andreas Strauss, the Froebe is an upcycled, blinged-out container equipped with hydraulics and a ‘rich’ paint job — making for an eye-catching and unusual hangout spot to have a beer. MuxBox is a company in Canada that makes these amazing transformations for restaurants and retail kiosks. They have a cool video and several examples of their creations.
