What are the highlights of attending camp at The Crucible?

Hands-on Experience: Our studio offers a tactile and visual alternative to the logic-based learning environment of most classrooms. Students who come to The Crucible are empowered to use their minds and their hands in concert to make industrial art from scratch.

Confidence and Community: Many of the youth who come through our camps experience self-confidence when they learn how to properly and safely use tools and even fire. At the end of one week of camp, you’ll see a new sense of “Can Do” attitude in your young artisan. Students also take home newly forged friendships and a sense of being a part of the larger community of Bay Area artisans.

Value: The cost of camp is extremely valuable when you consider the low student to teacher ratios in our camps, the hours of instructional time, and the fact that the cost of materials and safety equipment is factored into the price. Not only that but the cost of camp can give you a tax break. Our value is based in our mission of inspiring fine and industrial arts education.
