Welcome to Secret Breakfast

An exclusive newsletter, the best place to start your day and desire a cup of coffee, a slice of watermelon and a quantum of Fendace
Hi there!

It has been fashion week time, here in Milan, then we must talk about Fendace. Yes, like Fendi+Versace.

The two fashion houses had an unexpected show together: Fendi re-made Versace; Versace re-made Fendi. Some labeled that a cheap trick of luxury fashion. But wait...

Wouldn't you try - I don't know - an Arzak Egg reinterpreted by Dan Barber? Or the Elkano turbot made by Alex Atala? Or even a pack of Reese's peanut butter cups changed forever by the gentle hand of Anne-Sophie Pic? I'm sure I'd try that, I've always loved covers in music, why wouldn't I like that.

Wouldn't you go to a special dinner to be served with a celebration of tradition and a "to-hell-with-it disruption of the established order of things"? Wouldn't you love to cook that dinner yourself?

THE BEST QUOTE WE'LL READ TODAY
The critics aren’t real, the customers aren’t real because this isn’t real. You aren’t real.
Derek, why do you care about this people? They don’t care about you, none of them. They don’t even know you because you haven’t shown them. Every day you wake up and there’ll be less of you. You live your life for them and they don’t even see you. You don’t even see yourself. We don’t get a lot of things to really care about.

THE MISSING INGREDIENT
EARTH AS A FOOD-VENDING MACHINE
During the Sustainable Development Impact Summit, the World Economic Forum has discussed how to redress our food systems and avoid humanitarian and planetary catastrophe. Three shifts are needed:
  • a transition to healthy and sustainable diets
  • farming must become regenerative
  • we need to reduce the ecological footprint of agriculture and fisheries and boost nature’s ecosystems’ services that are essential to continue to produce our food

Every nation around the world has this idea that eating together is better, and that eating alone is against the norm. You know what? F**k the norm.

Fifty-dollar lab-grown chicken nuggets won't go far if we don't find a way to lower this cost. Cultured meat is still a gamble.
