As part of their marine spatial planning work, the Countryside Council for Wales asked us to assess the vulnerability of diving seabirds to tidal stream renewable energy devices around the Welsh coast. Using our vast aerial survey dataset, data from boat surveys, and knowledge of seabird ecology, we produced an assessment of ‘encounter risk’ for each species. More here

Projects that combine issues of wetland study, design and public involvement hold particular appeal to us, and our recent work for Tralee Town Council in Ireland neatly combines these principles. We undertook ecological surveys and produced detailed habitat designs and a hydrological model for a Wetland Park development in the River Lee estuary. More here
 
Jersey’s largest freshwater wetland, St. Ouens Pond on the west coast, has undergone a review of its visitor accessibility and facilities. Our team was invited by The National Trust for Jersey to carry out this work which is aimed at raising this important site’s profile as part of Jersey’s wetland network, and increasing its educational value. More here

The West Berkshire Brewery, Berkshire’s largest independent brewery, has built a sustainable low carbon wetland treatment system to deal with the wastewater generated by their expanding operation. We designed the bespoke system, now built, and will soon be fully operational. More here
