Green&Blue London Event

WWT Consulting at Sustainability Live

Competition Winner Announced

Record Scoter Counts
With the Flood and Water Management Bill recently becoming law, WWT Consulting has decided that this will be the focus of our London event this year. Green&Blue will focus on bringing together developers and planners for food and an informal discussion about the benefits wetlands can bring in urban settings. Contact us if this event is of interest to you.

Continuing the wetland treatment systems theme, WWT Consulting will be at the Sustainability Live Exhibition at the NEC, Birmingham, 20-22 April. If you are attending this show, why not stop by our stand and say hello (Stand A60). More info...

Earlier this month we ran a competition to launch our, new look, website. Congratulations go to Allan Snape of Northumbrian Water who correctly found the cartoon flamingos on the Contact Us page (they are still there if you want to see them). Northumbrian Water is a past client of ours for whom we have done a number of bird surveys and a concept design for habitat creation.

Finally, in February, our ecologists were excited to report that record numbers of Common Scoter were counted in Carmarthen Bay, South Wales. This survey recorded a total of over 40,000 individuals; while previous winter records for the area have been in the region of 20,000-28,500. It is possible that this year's extremely harsh winter weather across the continent has resulted in a temporary influx into this area. Read more here.
