Earlier this month we ran a competition to launch our, new look, website. Congratulations go to Allan Snape of Northumbrian Water who correctly found the cartoon flamingos on theContact Uspage (they are still there if you want to see them). Northumbrian Water is a past client of ours for whom we have done a number of bird surveys and a concept design for habitat creation.
Finally, in February, our ecologists were excited to report that record numbers of Common Scoter were counted in Carmarthen Bay, South Wales. This survey recorded a total of over 40,000 individuals; while previous winter records for the area have been in the region of 20,000-28,500. It is possible that this year's extremely harsh winter weather across the continent has resulted in a temporary influx into this area. Read more here.
