It's the survey season again and we are gearing up for another busy year. In addition to a comprehensive survey service, we also offer advice on management and enhancement of wetland and terrestrial habitats for protected species, from pond restoration techniques for Great Crested Newt to habitat creation schemes for Water Vole.

This is our first newsletter since receiving ISO9001 accreditation from the British Assessment Bureau. We worked towards it last year and were awarded the recognition in December 2011. This follows hot off the heels of receiving ISO14001 accreditation in 2010, and we continue to strive to reduce our environmental impact in daily operations.

Hubei Shishou Milu National Nature Reserve
In December 2011 we completed a masterplan for a Chinese wetland reserve, home to the endemic and protected Père David Deer. The reserve needed its visitor services improving, so an interpretation and management plan was conceived, and concept designs were produced for a 20 hectare wetland visitor experience. Visitors will be able to enjoy trails, bespoke wildlife hides and 1,500 hectares of restored wetland habitats. To learn more about our Visitor Centre Planning services, click here.
Wetland Treatment Systems
2011 was a busy year for Wetland Treatment Systems including two systems designed, constructed and commissioned. We recently designed a low carbon wastewater system for a demonstration project, to be constructed in Scotland later this year. You can come and meet Ian Griffin, who will be presenting on our approach to designing Wetland Treatment Systems for a range of effluent, at Sustainabilitylive! May 2012.
