Digitalisation is the use of digital technologies and digitised data in enterprises and organisations, with far-reaching implications for how work gets done and how customers engage and interact with operations. There can be no doubt that digitalisation is transforming business models, revolutionising societies and creating new revenue streams around the globe. Now, more than ever, we need to understand and harness the power of digitalisation, to further the global common good.

ETTG Directors Meeting with the Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jutta Urpilainen

Last month the European Think Tanks Group (ETTG) Directors Ana-Katharina Hornidge (DIE), Carl Michiels (ECDPM), Nathalie Tocci (IAI), Sebastien Treyer (IDDRI) and Sara Pantuliano (ODI), the ETTG Director, Geert Laporte and the ETTG Coordinator, Vera Mazzara met the Commissioner for international partnerships Jutta Urpilainen for discussing possible further cooperation between DG DEVCO and ETTG.
The DG DEVCO webinar Infopoint event we co - organised reflected on the transformative role of the Farm to Fork Strategy for the EU’s food supply chains , by looking at the implications for both EU citizens and third countries. The event allowed the audience to look at the Strategy through broader lenses and to grasp the spill-over effects that its implementation can generate at the external level, in line with the goals set in the UN Agenda 2030.

Members from each institution joined forces and came together for the panel discussion as part of a series of live virtual talks on multilateral development finance bringing together experts from academia, think tanks and development agencies from across the world who shared their views and insights.
Our ETTG Director Geert Laporte talked to the radio-journalist Ricardo Alexandre for a Lisbon Speed Talk episode with the topic "Africa and Europe: between aid and strategy".

Our Director Geert Laporte participated to the ISPI webinar event on Europe-Africa: What chance for the EU New Strategy

The New Strategy draft was meant to be discussed with Africans and to be finalized at a long-awaited European Union-African Union summit in October, which, however, had to be postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic. This gives both sides time to reflect further on the actual shape of the new partnership.
