Enhance Learning with an Enterprise Social Network

Survey Says Half of Organizations on Board with ESNs

We’re back with more insights from the Impact Instruction Group’s third annual Learning and Development Technology Trends Report. We asked our survey respondents if they had adopted an enterprise social networking tool; it was a new question for our 2015 survey. What did we learn?

Adoption of an enterprise social networking tool was split at 50 percent.


Of the 50 percent that said yes, 49 percent allow learners to post questions and seek answers from co-workers, 43 percent allow learners to share knowledge and work experience, and 40 percent allow learners to pull work-related information and learning. Only 26 percent use the tool to push out learning, 38 percent to promote events, and only 11 percent analyze conversations to identify learners’ needs and trends.
