'Movers and Shakers' Newsletter

February / March 2015

No. 40
This month's issue looks broadly at the topic of  digital, as we announce the placement of Editor in Chief for Digital Platforms for French newscaster Euronews.

We examine the international news organisation in our spotlight article, introducing the nascent African division, Africanews; and take a wider look at digital's impact upon print newspapers, noting a distinct upward turn, as well as investigating two new digital services.

Thankfully the upward trend from last year continues and the executive search market seems to be back to its former pre-recession level with continuing growth in the emerging markets as well as the UK.

We’re delighted to say this has also been a record-breaking year for Lumina with many new clients and placements - some of which are shown here. We celebrated in style with a ‘C’ level networking event in January  which took place in the Hutong Restaurant at the Shard which coincided with our 7th birthday. Further details below.

This report is brought to you as a useful service to keep you up to date with the ever-revolving door. As ever, we request your contributions to the issues raised in this newsletter

C-Level Networking Dinner at The Shard
In late January Lumina, in partnership with our clients at Prime Focus Technologies, hosted a very successful evening event at The Shard.

In an intimate space on the Shard's 53rd floor restaurant The Hutong, a select group of media and technology executives from organisations such as BT TV, BBC, ITV and Google, amongst others, enjoyed a 10 course selection of the restaurant's distinctive take upon traditional Northern Chinese cuisine. The combination of a stellar guestlist, impressive views and ample champagne made for a memorable evening.

Amongst our guests, we were also particularly fortunate to be joined by sponsors Prime Focus Technology's CEO and Founder Ramki Sankaranarayanan, who flew in from the company HQ in Mumbai in order to attend the event.
Medicinema & BKSTS - Bernard Happe Lecture
Lumina is pleased to have sponsored this year's Bernard Happé Lecture, a benefit event conducted by Medicinema and BKSTS.

Frayling, a leading arts writer, critic and broadcaster, who, as the former Chair of Arts Council England, was recently knighted for his "services to art and design education."

Since 1931, BKSTS has been organising events and exhibitions for the film industry, as well as training courses, lectures, workshops and special events.
