Follow the Kings
Epiphany, January 6, 2019
Let's "walk the walk" and "talk the talk" of the Magi to whom Christ was first revealed. Here's how! We will each bring our gifts from the East to the Christ Child. Epiphany is on a Sunday this year.
First Gift—A Candle
Epiphany is also known as the "Feast of Light," because Christ is the Light of the World. To light our way on the journey, bring a candle (and holder) to be placed around the church when we process in. There will be places where we can place our candles as we begin our worship service. (Be sure your candle can burn for about an hour.)
Second Gift—For the Christ Child
Bring a gift of food or clothing to be placed in front of the Christ Child. All items will be donated to Sharing God's Love.
Third Gift—A Covered Dish to Share
Around noon (following the 10:30 am worship service), we will have a "Feast from the East." Everyone is invited to bring a food "from the East"—Asian stir fry, chili from east Texas, potato salad from east Tennessee, or something more exotic. Make sure to bring enough to share.
Join us as we "follow the kings" to bring gifts to the Christ Child on January 6, beginning with worship at 10:30 am and followed by covered dish lunch around noon.
Oh, yes, we need helpers (to make the drinks and to set up the Field Building). If you can be a helper, please contact Amie Ritner for further instructions.
