View this email in your browser

Dear <<First Name>>,

Warm greetings!

Walla Walla University is thriving, with a fall enrollment of 1,856 students. This number includes 405 first-time freshmen, our largest freshman class in 37 years! And our recruiting team is already visiting with prospective students for fall 2019.

You are a part of this team, and we are grateful for the support you give to WWU, your alma mater—thank you!

In this issue you'll find alumni event details and campus news. Please also take note of some of the ways you can continue to support WWU:

  • Provide student internships through your business.
  • Recruit and hire WWU graduates.
  • Mentor students and other alumni.
  • Pray for God’s continued guidance on our campus.
  • Spread the word about our strong academic programs.
  • Encourage college-age family members and friends to enroll at WWU.
  • Become a member of our Legacy Society.
  • Share your ideas for how we can better serve you, our treasured alumni!

Help WWU students—donate to the
Walla Walla University Fund

The Walla Walla University Fund provides students with scholarships, and supports campus programs and improvements. Read about how this fund has helped three of our students, and learn how to make a contribution.

Friendly faces everywhere!

Every six years the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists convenes all Adventist teachers for three days of training and professional development. The August 2018 convention took place in Chicago, Ill., and followed the theme, "Encounter Jesus, Experience Excellent."

Our WWU team caught up with more than 300 WWU alumni during the convention, mostly at our WWU booth, and we cheered on WWU alumni presenters. Peter Fackenthall ’94 presented “The Ministry of Educational Leadership,” and Janelle Kay ’11 presented “How to Start a School Wellness Program.” Brian Hartman ’93, assistant professor of education at WWU, presented both “Leonardo Da Vinci in the Classroom: Using Renaissance Thinking to Inspire STEM Education” and “Engineering for Elementary STEM Learning.” We know we missed some of you, but we know you represented us well.

Good news at Rosario Alumni Sabbath

In August, more than 100 alumni gathered for Rosario Alumni Sabbath where Dr. Carl Cosaert, newly appointed Dean of the School of Theology, was our guest speaker. Through personal stories that are close to his heart, Dr. Cosaert did a fantastic job giving us the good news of justification, redemption and reconciliation through Jesus Christ. We love gathering as an alumni family at Rosario, and we can always count on stunning scenery, the caliber of the guest speakers, and delicious food! Plan now to join us at Rosario August 23 to 25, 2019, when Dr. Greg Dodds '93, professor and chair of the Department of History, will be our guest speaker.
