“New Year, New You!”

Year after year, this tried-and-true (and rather tired) marketing slogan has graced Internet ads, email subject lines, and billboards across the nation, acting as a gentle prod to usher in the New Year with a harder-better-faster-stronger version of yourself.

Well, I’m ready to change things up.

Instead of starting the New Year with a fresh set of self-imposed expectations, turn your focus and your energy outward—on your home. By cleaning and organizing (and purging!) your rooms, closets, attics, and basements, you’re making space—both physical and mental—for yourself and your loved ones.

Studies show that a tidy home provides a host of benefits—and not all of them spatial. Energy, enthusiasm, and positivity are just a few of the advantages to keeping your space neat and organized. Below, I’ve shared a fascinating HuffPo article on how you too can “get Kondo’ed” with The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up. (I’ve read it, and I’m a believer.)

Ready to take action? Below, I share my recommendation for Create Space Organizing, a Boulder-based business that caters to the art of de-cluttering. And of course, if any of your tidying inspires changes to your home’s look and feel, I’m at the ready with interior design guidance and expertise.

Call me, won’t you?

Get Kondo'ed

Room by room or little by little, you too can clear the clutter and enjoy the unique magic of a tidy home. In her best-selling book, organizational consultant Marie Kondo introduces us to KonMari, the Japanese method of tidying and simplifying.

Declutter Your Upstairs

Fact: Letting go is incredibly freeing—once you learn how to let go. In this inspiring and insightful HuffPo article, writer Lindsay Holmes shares the mental benefits of freeing up space in your home, and five tips for taking the leap toward tidiness.

Create Space Organizing

Marissa had me at her mission: “Creating space for the things that matter in your life.” Yes, please, and thank you. As a Boulder-based professional organizer, Marissa has made a career out of helping clients maximize space and minimize clutter.
