Outdoor Education Camp

Upper Elementary

Outdoor Education Camp is more than just fun. It's an opportunity for students to have authentic experiences in natural classrooms and challenge themselves in new ways.  Our 4th, 5TH, AND 6th GRADE students go to camp each year, a total of 9 full days by the end of their upper elementary cycle. 6th graders complete a zip line capstone experience. CAPE

Clothing Drive
The truck will arrive next week! Gather all your unwanted clothing, shoes, bags, drapes, blankets, etc. and bring them to school by next Friday so CAPE can make some money from them. Also, share the event on Facebook and at work, and tell your family and friends! Click here for more info.

Lantern Making
Please join us for a lantern-making workshop this coming Monday, Oct. 26, right after school! Children must be accompanied by adults. We will craft paper lanterns using materials provided by CAPE. Click here for more info.

Spanish

Middle School Presents: "EL DIA DE LOS MUERTOS"

This is a traditional celebration for remembrance of the passed away in Latin America.

Tuesday, October 27th at 9:00 AM
Wednesday, October 28th at 1:00 PM (this show will include a concluding song by Upper Elementary).

Parenting Workshop

Come learn more about the Parent Talk System that helps Parents develop positive verbal skills to effectively communicate with their children. (MSBG  teachers practice these skills, too.)  Watch as misbehavior decreases and family harmony increases!

A special workshop will be offered on Wednesday, November 18 from 7-8 p.m. here at MSBG to introduce the Parent Talk system. The instructor is Sue DiBiasio, a Montessori teacher, parent, grandparent and Parent Talk facilitator. Click on the link below for more information and to register.

Music Education Update

Information went home last week about instruments for Beginning Band.  I have heard from some students that they have their instruments. Exciting! This is your friendly reminder that the week of October 26th, we want to begin playing our new instruments.  (This is the week after camp.)  Please make plans to have instruments and method books here at school that week.  If you have any questions, please call or email me!
"Miss Jennifer" Blakeman

First and Second graders are enjoying 'Splashing' in music class.  Ask them to demonstrate the poem for you: "Take some bubbles..."

Happy Thoughts

Happy Thoughts to lower elementary student, Brynn Lust, as she recovers from surgery this week.

Happy Thoughts to our community who mourns the loss of Dakota Venn, a high school student who was in a fatal car accident.

Happy Thoughts to Miss Bev. She is recovering from major surgery and will be out the next couple weeks.

THANK YOU to CAPE
A big thank you to CAPE for purchasing for the school 50 new chairs and a rack to put them on!  Hopefully, this will give us better seating in the Oberheu room for performances, etc.  CAPE also purchased two small display tables for the foyer that are stored in the red closet.  Please thank a CAPE member when you see them!

Also, a shout out to Justin Espen who unpacked all the boxes, put the rack for the chairs together and hung all the chairs - thank you Justin!!
