Meet and Greet Next Week

Join us at Wintergarden/St. John's Nature Preserve next Thursday, August 29, at 6pm, for our annual ice cream social, the Meet & Greet. We'll have games, a stroll on the trails, and both dairy and non-dairy treats. Mosquito numbers are down, but if you're sensitive, there will be indoor fun options too. Come out  and get to know your Montessori community members! Brought to you by CAPE, The Superparent Association.
Boy Scout Recruitment Night
On Wednesday, August 28th at 7 p.m. in the Oberheu Room, there will be a meeting for those interested in more information on joining Boy Scouts.  Remember that a scout can choose to participate in any Pack they want to be a part of, even if that Pack is affiliated with another school or organization.  While the boys in our pack (Pack 390) are primarily from MSBG and the Christian Academy, we also have scouts joining us from Kenwood and Conneaut.  Feel free to invite other boys who might be interested in joining Pack 390.

CAPE: Parent Association

Welcome to your organization, parents! CAPE exists to build community among the families of the Montessori School of Bowling Green. All MSBG parents are part of CAPE and are encouraged to participate in the mission of the association. Check out our upcoming events HERE and jump in! Thanks for sharing yourselves with us and helping us build our community.

Miss Amanda: Art Education
Miss Amanda Fleming recently accepted a full-time teaching position in Toledo. She served as our art teacher for 12 years, is an alumni parent, and will be missed in our school.
We are currently interviewing applicants and still accepting resumes.
Here is a note from her:
Dear Montessori Family,
After thirteen years of teaching Art at the Montessori School of Bowling Green, it is time for me to begin a new teaching adventure and to say farewell to all of you.  I want to thank you for the wonderful support you have extended to me over the years and for trusting me with your children.
When I came to the Montessori in 2000 the children had art class only once every other week and I provided additional lessons for their classroom teachers to enhance their experience.  With the support of the faculty over the years we have all watched the program flourish and grow.  Art has become an integral part of each student’s Montessori education and I have had the privilege of watching many young artists blossom and grow through their art.
As Miss Amanda I have worn several different hats during my tenure at the Montessori, teaching not only art classes but also physical education, substitute teaching in the classroom, and instructing in the aftercare program.  At each station and with every year the Montessori School of Bowling Green’s unique teaching environment and your children taught me more than I gave.  And so with a grateful heart, a touch of melancholy, and a big smile I say thank you to each of you for entrusting your children to me for their art.  Although I am excited about my new teaching adventure, I take only fond memories and positive teaching experiences with me.
Wishing you all a wonderful new school year,
Miss Amanda
