Montessori Moment

Rainbows in the Clouds

As we complete the end of the year, we can help but remember Maya Angelou.

Maya Angelou was a Montessori mom and also the keynote speaker at an American Montessori Conference in NYC in 2007. 3,500 people in the Madison Square Garden Theater and reportedly, you could have heard a pin drop when Dr. Angelou took the stage. Maya quoted poetry, told stories and shared her thoughts on education. As a mother who chose Montessori for her children she told us that Montessori teachers “were rainbows in the clouds.”
Happy Summer All! You are all rainbows in the clouds. Please stop in and see us! Friday Features will continue to be published on limited weeks during the summer.

Quarterly Kroger Statement Due!
For those of you participating in the Kroger Rewards program, the 3rd quarter payment has arrived!  Families need to log in to your Kroger account online and print out the benefit that was paid on your behalf.  If you then turn in this statement to the school office, we will credit your tuition account for that amount.  Be sure to have any of your friends and family that signed their cards up with Montessori as their charity to print out their statements as well.    We will need all statements turned in to the office no later than June 20, 2014.  After that time, any remaining benefit will be donated to the CAPE parent association and the school scholarship fund.

Join us for our next CAPE meeting, July 10!  We will discuss upcoming social events and fundraisers, and make decisions about how to allocate the money we raise. Our role as an organization is always evolving. If you have ideas and talents you would like to share to build our school community, come and take part! For more info, contact Chelsea Cloeter at cdcloeter@me.com.
