Back-to-School Basics:
Binders or Accordion Files?

Background

Another school year often means another frenzied rush to buy school supplies.  But which ones to choose?  For your supply decisions, I have constructed a chart that lists the pros and cons of three-ring binders, zippered three-ring binders, and accordion folders.  You can use this chart beforehand to help your child think through their needs. For additional reference, check out the pictures, too!

Binders vs. Accordion Files

*You can buy plastic pockets for three-ring binders that allow you to slip paper in, similar to an accordion file.

Remember to think through what your children have used in the past.  This will help you to figure out what works and what doesn't. Finally, buying high-quality products means fewer gaps in binder rings and fewer accordion files falling apart.
All my best as your kids embark on another year of learning!
