Sermon on the Mount

Making Much of God or Making Much of Me

We can all relate to the temptation to seek the praise of man. When we seek the praise of man, we are making much of self—“Making much of me.” The only way to mortify this insidious and insatiable flesh is to “Make much of God.” When we make much of God in our giving, our prayers, and in all of life, we grow in our ability to see the utter foolishness of seeking the praise of man. That reward is so unsatisfying—quenchless. But when we see who God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit really are and seek to make much of Him, the reward we receive from Him is everlasting. This Sunday, we will continue to unpack the sermon Jesus preached and see together to make much of our God.

Invite friends and family to worship in-person with us at 8:00 (Chapel), 9:30 or 11:00 a.m. or online at, the PCPC App with an iOS or Android device, Facebook, or YouTube.

“Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you."

Faith & Culture: Discovering How Science Points to God

Sunday, September 18

Our culture tells us that scientific evidence and faith in God are at odds, and this assumption can often cause doubt in our own hearts or anxiety over sharing our faith with others. During this special evening lecture, philosopher of science Dr. Stephen Meyer will encourage us with a series of revolutionary scientific discoveries in astronomy, physics, and biology that point to the reality of God.
