Outreach Program Supplies Washington Hebrew Congregation's Hunger Project

8th Class of Leland International Hunger Fellows Launched

The Congressional Hunger Center’s 8th class of Mickey Leland International Hunger Fellows began their two years of service on Sept. 21. When they complete the program in August 2017, these fellows will be equipped with in-depth knowledge of both food security field programming and policy work and ready to be leaders in the fight against hunger worldwide. Students Encouraged to #Get5Give5 With New Scholarship Opportunity

Sodexo Foundation announced that the application period for the 2016 Stephen J. Brady Stop Hunger Scholarships opens today, October 5 and closes December 5, 2015. The scholarship program urges students to apply to #Get5Give5 and impact millions. The Great Farm in Northern Nigeria

Hauwa Ibrahim is a 40-year old mother of three who grows corn to feed her family in northern Nigeria. She has a small plot of land (3/4 of an acre) that produced 10 bags of corn last year.  Ms. Ibrahim sold 6 bags (in the local market) and kept 4 bags for eating at home.  Each bag weighs about 200 pounds. Hunger-Free Ohio
ProMedica, Alliance to End Hunger and Bread for the World are hosting a free statewide event to discuss effective strategies on addressing hunger as a health issue and building a hunger-free model for Ohio. This session will feature perspectives from an array of experts including a keynote address by John B. McCarthy, Director, Ohio Department of Medicaid. Representatives from Ohio healthcare organizations, faith-based groups, the education community, and government institutes will gather to share best practices, offer community connections and resources, and advocate for Ohio’s food insecure individuals and families. Please register and view event details here
