Dear Tubac Historical Society Members,

Would you be interested in a bus tour to Alamos, Sonora next February? We've asking for your input as we consider offering a tour as part of THS's 50th Anniversary Celebration in 2017.

In Alamos we have the opportunity to stay at the gorgeous, 4 star Hacienda de los Santos which won Trip Advisor National 2016 Awards, First place in the 'Top 25 Small Hotels in Mexico'. Check it out at It is just amazing.

We want this to be a wonderful trip. It would be a great help to us if you could take a few minutes to read the description of the tour and then reply back to me via email if you have any interest in this trip.  (Instructions follow.)
The tour will be led by Stephen Brenier, owner of South of the Border Tours in Tucson.  Stephen who has been leading tours to Alamos for over 20 years, is extremely knowledgeable and operates a very safe, client-friendly tour. We will be going in a large, modern, comfortable bus with a clean bathroom and bottled water. My wife and I went on one of his tours to the Kino Missions in Sonora last spring. We know from personal experience that he is a great tour operator who also know where the best margaritas are!
Is it safe to go to Mexico? Nearly all the trip is on limited-access highways that are patrolled at all times by "Green Angels" (mechanics in green trucks.) The Sonoran government is very anxious to attract tourists and makes an effort to assure our safety. In addition, my wife and I personally know an American physician who has a clinic in Alamos (an old friend of our own David Simons). As for "Montezuma's Revenge," we can give you tips on how to keep your tummy happy in Mexico.
