"The effectiveness of leadership is measured in terms of influence. When you see someone's influence reflected so profoundly in the lives of other people, you have identified someone who is by definition a leader." - Dr. John MacArthur
Influencing the lives of a new generation of pastors and preachers in the Philippines is the answer to a long-standing prayer. I can't think of a better investment as a leader in missions. To see them carry on in ministry as leaders influencing others is even more significant.
My work among the student body at BBSI has reaped the benefits of the influence. After 3+ years of service there, I have had the privilege to influence hundreds of young men and women for service. I hear from and see on FB posts that many of the seminarians are serving well and with excellence.
By influencing these young seminarians to dig deeply into the Word of God and to depend on the Lord's leading as they teach, preach and lead a congregation, we are helping to establish a good future foundation in many churches.
Kim also has that opportunity of influencing future leaders. At Faith Academy where she teaches HS math and disciples and witnesses to students, she has seen the influence upon these Missionary Kids (MKs) and Third-culture Kids (TCKs). It is a student body made up of over 50 nations.
Kim will also have opportunity to disciple among the BBSI female students upon our return to Manila.
Today's 2-minute video introduces you to three more seminary students: Ralph, Christian and Kenjie.
Each has their own calling to ministry. Each has their favorite seminary subject. Each hopes to return to their home churches following graduation much better prepared and equipped to further those ministries in their communities.
As I have had time to get to know them and others, I am continually amazed at their servant's heart. They aren't perfect of course, but they are both willing and determined to serve well and influence others as leaders. They want to depend on the Word of God too.
Please pray for these and others who are leaders, pastors and preachers in training, that they will:
- Depend heavily upon the Word of God as their source of preaching and teaching.
- Influence others through their commitment to the Word of God
When you support the Clarks and their work in the Philippines, you are helping to shape a new generation of church leaders for Christ. You in essence become part of the "ripple effect" of 2 Timothy 2:2.
Thank you for praying and your financial support! The Clarks
