Spurgeon's quote embodies what those in ministry must make as their main prayer and focus as they serve. He is our only source of power and hope in any ministry endeavor.
As we look forward to 2017, we are excited to know that our hope is in the Lord as we work as tirelessly as possible to fulfill His purposes for us in our generation (Acts 13:36).
Even while on furlough, I have been privileged to continue working to equip men for ministry.
These men are part of the 3 year church-based Training Center of Faith Bible Church. Last fall they worked on the study of the Bible (both OT and NT). Now they will begin the second semester of the 1st year with a focus on Systematic and Practical Theology.
My TC men...(L to R) Daniel Garcia, Drew Lepis, Josh Powell, & Tim Hadley
Please pray for these faithful men and for me as I will work with them all I am able while here on furlough.
Among the pastors and ministry leaders I have spoken to about this project, there is much interest in partnering with us in the future.
The goal is to see pastors encouraged and equipped. Pastors in the Philippines desperately need training to improve in their calling. We heard of this need over and over during our first term in Manila.
These pastors have the most impact on local churches so, we who are trained, must do what we can for them.

Please pray for the Lord to lead us in the arranging of Project Truth-Bearers training events in 2017 and 2018.
We were blessed last summer to see the Lord open the doors for our girls with Kelly attending Liberty University as a nursing student and Kaitlyn living, working and soon to be studying childhood development in Sydney, Australia.
Kelly and Kaitlyn in Sydney. We were privileged to help get Kaitlyn set up for her new chapter in life before we and Kelly pressed on to CA last June!
The Lord has provided us during furlough regular times with our family in CA and especially getting to know our grandsons better. We've seen them change so much in just this short time...Maverick is learning to write his name and Greyson went from crawling to now walking (albeit like a drunken sailor!).

Kevin works in an HR department and as a photographer. Jason is studying education at Liberty University. Tiffany and Jason and our soon to be 3 grandsons live and work in northern CA.
Please pray for our family as our eventual departure could easily overshadow the special times we've been having. We continue to depend upon the Lord to give us strength and good times.
We continue to raise one time and monthly support to return by the end of March.
After 28 years as missionaries, we have seen the Lord provide for our support needs in both dramatic and steady ways.
Remembering these past moments of His faithfulness always encourages our faith and gives us confidence that He is able and never late in His provisions.
If you are able to serve as one of our EquipPartners with a monthly or even a one-time donation, please follow this link:
Your tax deductible gifts will place us back in Manila to continue our work at the seminary, Faith Academy, alongside Emmanuel Baptist Church and for equipping pastors in and around Manila.
As Charles Spurgeon put it... All of our hope must be placed in God for ministry. Remaining faithful to Him and equipping a new generation for Christ wherever we are fosters a "ripple effect" that the Lord will use.
Please pray in this way:
- Praise for His provision of all our needs this last year...Pray for the provision of more EquipPartners in ministry to send us back at the end of March.
- Praise for our time with supporters and family and pray for us as a family during the remainder of our furlough.
Happy New Year! Thanks for praying and giving. The Clarks
