Stiff + Trevillion Autumn 2012

Commercial News

Commercial work has always formed the backbone of our business, but recent commissions have seen an increase in our commercial sector workload.  This update will look at some key projects.

Two significant new build projects are about to go to tender with a planned start on site in Spring 2013.  Sloane Street for Cadogan Estates (pictured top) and Bishops Bridge Road (detail picture, bottom), sixteen flats for Derwent London.

We are also at pre-planning stage for two major residential schemes in Westminster for the Alchemi Group on Victoria Street and Westbourne Grove.

10-4 Pentonville Road

This building occupies an important site opposite The Angel Building, another recent Derwent London development.

There has been a considerable buzz around the project since the scaffolding was removed. The existing buildings have been linked and extended, stripped back to the frame and completely re-clad and refurbished to provide top quality offices. The result is an almost new building.

The front elevation has been clad with Petersen bricks from Denmark, with black anodised windows and metalwork. The interiors extend the Scandinavian theme, with whitened oak paneling and Aalto inspired reception desk. Art work  by Hugo Dalton and Leather detailing by Bill Amburg complete the reception areas. 47,700 sq ft have been let to Ticketmaster.

The Valentine Building, completion December 2012

Work started on this new build office project last year, and after some complex basement works the concrete frame went up very quickly. The cladding is now almost complete.

A Schuco unitised system in dark grey anodised aluminum was specified. The east and west facades are animated by vertical shading in a lighter silver grey. From the upper levels the views across London are surprisingly good, and it promises to be an impressive new building for Southwark.

Planning Consent for Regent House, Edgware Road

Stiff+Trevillion worked with Colwyn Foulkes to achieve Planning Consent for a new mixed use building at the junction of Edgware Road and George Street. The scheme  provides Grade A office space, retail and 24 apartments. The roof level penthouses and office Pavilion will enjoy great view across  the heart London.
